Chemical pickling and passivation for industrial pipelines — project for one of Romania's largest shipbuilders

2 June 2025

Alkaline degreasing, acid pickling, successive rinsing, compressed air drying and conservation oil protection — validated to NAS 1638 standard, with Oizom hazardous vapour monitoring.

Klarwin's Automotive and Industrial Technology team is carrying out a complete chemical pickling process for industrial pipelines, as part of a project for one of Romania's largest shipbuilders.

Following alkaline degreasing, acid pickling and successive rinsing to neutral pH, the pipelines are dried with compressed air and internally protected with conservation oil. We collect samples and validate cleanliness levels according to the NAS 1638 standard.

Last but not least, for team safety and workplace protection, we monitor the presence of hazardous vapours in real time — such as formaldehyde and hydrochloric acid — using Oizom sensors.
