The international company Klarwin, a European leader in industrial filtration, separation and purification applications, in partnership with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, a global leader in generic medicines, launched the „Redăm Verdele Naturii” (Returning the Green to Nature) cleanup project under the auspices of the „Let’s do it, Romania!” organization.
The first edition took place on Sunday, May 22nd, with the aim of marking the International Day of Action for Environmental Protection, celebrated each year on May 23rd. The cleanup action was carried out in the Lacul Morii area, Sector 6, Bucharest, with the support of the „Let’s do it, Romania!” Association and the local sanitation operator.
„We want a greener and cleaner Romania, and that requires involvement. We can sit back and wait for others to solve the problem of improperly stored waste, given that the authorities are overwhelmed by the situation, or we can roll up our sleeves and act. We saw an openness for volunteering within the Klarwin team and decided to channel this motivation into cleanup projects, alongside our partner, Teva Pharmaceutical. We act by removing rubbish from places where it should not be, but beyond this effort, we want to contribute to a shift in mindset among Romanians. Responsibility for the environment starts with keeping it clean”, said Adrian Dobre, founder and CEO of Klarwin.
50 volunteers took part in the cleanup action — employees of the two companies and members of their families. The project benefits from the support of the „Let’s do it, Romania!” organization, which handled the training of the participants. The collected waste was transported by the local sanitation operator Urban SA.
